The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience invites an application for an Assistant Professor three year term position, with possibility of conversion to a tenure track position, funding permitting. Applications are invited from cantidates in any area of Behavioural Neuroscience including perception, cognition, development, plasticity and neuroethology.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in behavioural neuroscience and develop a research program in behavioural neuroscience. It is expected that the successful candidate will have an excellent background in research, will apply for external research funding, and will develop an active research program.

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience has a core research group in Behavioural Neuroscience and can offer support in terms of space, equipment, and collegial assistance in establishing a research program. Located in Southern Alberta, within sight of the Rocky Mountains, Lethbridge offers a sunny, dry, climate which is surprisingly mild for the prairies, excellent cultural and recreational amenities, and attractive economic conditions. Founded in 1967, the University focuses on excellence in undergraduate programs and has an enrolment of over 5,000 students.

New Faculty are eligible to apply for a start-up grant for research and may also apply to other university funding sources in support of research and attendance at conferences. The current minimum salary for an Assistant Professor is $38,097.00 per annum.
